Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) devices are one of the most popular ways to treat people who suffer from sleep apnea. A sleep apnea CPAP device includes a small machine, a mask or nose piece, hose and a fan. The device uses air pressure to push your tongue forward and open your throat. This allows air to pass through your throat. It reduces snoring and prevents apnea disturbances.

A CPAP device is not a cure for sleep apnea. But, is considered first-line treatment for mild, moderate, or severe obstructive sleep apnea. When CPAPs are used correctly, sleep problems usually get much better. (more…)
